About James

I am a professional creative writing teacher and mentor, based in Auckland. I've been teaching for 10 years at various venues (including Auckland University Continuing Education, AUT and Unitec) and have mentored on the Masters of Creative Writing Programmes at AUT and Auckland University. I've also done writers workshops in the community for many years and events for Toi Maori Aotearoa.

As a writer I've published three novels, two of which have been shortlisted for major awards. I love teaching and helping people to get into the world of creative narrative and storytelling.
