Hi Bonnie thanks for your comment - yes, I liked that quote too - one of things I like about Claire Keegan is that she talks about how hard she finds writing, that it is difficult to do well, and that she writes slowly and does many drafts. I guess I find that comforting...
It's good to hear a writer talk about the work of writing as WORK. In her appearance in Auckland in May she treated the creation of story as a task to be chipped away at, thought through, with the writer looking for inspiration in the process of crafting. Not as something bestowed by gift upon the creative.
